Old Santee Canal Park Wedding – Cara & Art

This is a beautiful wedding that we captured this spring at the Old Santee Canal park in Moncks Corner, SC. The park is on the Tailrace canal and hold many southern styled weddings this time of year. As you enter the park you will see the spanish moss dancing to the wind in the large mature oaks that line the property and see the lush grass that rolls on top of the hill.  The Stony Landing Plantation House sits on top of the hill overlooking the river and was built around 1843 and served as a working plantation. What a perfect day it was and these were some of the most beautiful flowers and decor I have photographed. It was a pleasure and an honor being part of your Big Day!  Enjoy all the small things in life and may you forever make memories together. With love, Jamie & Hattie

Miler Country Club Wedding ~ Monica & D

This is a couple that we met a few months ago during a sit down meeting to go over their special day. I knew the minute we met for the engagement session that these two were perfect for each other. So on the big day everything went as scheduled and we had a blast doing it. Here are a few of  favorites from the day. Special thanks to Hattie for helping it go so smoothly.

Wedding Wobble with GoPro HD

Every wedding after the majority of the party has left the DJ’s always seem to pull out “The Wobble” and the girls just flock to the dance floor. At this wedding there were a few left around and sure enough the DJ played it and the girls just couldn’t resist. They dropped whatever they were doing, eating or drinking and one even brought her baby out. The wobble does it every time!!

Summerville Children and Family Photographer ~ Kim & Royce

This was a fun shoot that was just mommy and her boy. We strolled around the old streets of Summerville and visited a few of the local parks and just played while we snapped a few pics. Photo sessions like these are best when the children can just play and be themselves, and what a better place to do just that than a playground with swings and merry-go-rounds.  Here is a few from the session that I picked to highlight our afternoon.

Newborn Baby Photography Summerville ~ Baby Dylan

This was very exciting for me since we recently did a maternity Session with Ashley a few months back. I could remember her smiling in the studio and how excited she was to finally get to meet this little guy some day. Little baby Dylan is just as cute as they come, from his cute little button nose down to his little piggy toes. I’m the most jealous of his nice soft full head of hair. What a blessing he is and I’m glad to have been a part of this little guys journey.

Maternity Photographer in Summerville ~ Bump with Ashley

This is always such a fun style photo session. Many people don’t do these and they regret it later after the baby grows old enough to tell the story and show the pictures of how he/she began. In this case,  this is baby Dylan in his final stages before he meets the world and get to see his mommy for the first time. This is also a precious keepsake for the mother and pictures that will always have sentimental value and can be handed down many generations from now. So here is a few I selected from the session.

Legare Waring House Wedding – Charleston Wedding Venue

We have worked several weddings here at the Legare Waring House which is nestled in the back of Charlestown Landing touching the salt marsh and tidal creeks of Charleston. Hold your wedding or special event among the shady, moss laden ancient avenue of oaks, crystal lagoons and year round brilliance of flowers that surround the Legare Waring House. Steeped in history, this beautiful property is located in Charleston SC. The site of the first permanent European settlement in the Carolinas. Ferdinanda Izlar Legare Backer Waring transformed the raw natural landscape into one of Charleston’s best-loved suburban gardens. These are a few shots from an event that we processed and thought we would share with you.

Bethany Living Christmas Story 2012

A few nights each December, the parking lot of Bethany United Methodist Church becomes the city of Bethlehem. The pavement and the people are transformed into the Living Christmas Story, a drive-through re-enactment of the way life was 2,000 years ago on the night Jesus Christ was born. Not an ordinary Christmas play, the Living Christmas Story uses real people from the Summerville community who become the people of Bethlehem. Villagers, a blacksmith, the innkeeper, pottery makers, the marketplace and many more scenes come alive as you drive through and experience the night Christ came to us.

Often described as beautiful and moving, the Living Christmas Story is an experience that many thousands of spectators have witnessed over the years. The presentation features 19 scenes, viewed as vehicles travel a candle-lit drive winding through the Bethany parking lot. Visitors see the angel Gabriel talking with Mary; the holy family traveling to Bethlehem; King Herod on his throne; and angels sharing the news of Christ’s birth with the shepherds in the field. On the other side of Bethlehem’s city gate, visitors watch blacksmiths, carpenters and potters in a bustling market scene. There are centurions on horseback, fishermen mending their nets, and, most importantly, Baby Jesus resting in a manger.

The Living Christmas Story is a labor of love for Bethany members. Last year’s props had barely been boxed away when church members began planning and coordinating this year’s event. From costumes to construction to props and lighting, every detail has been carefully plotted to ensure that the Christmas story comes to life.

A special thanks to all who make this event possible and organize this massive volunteer event.

Beaufort Waterfront Marina Landscape Photography

I recently stayed at the Beaufort Waterfront Marina for a few nights on a friends yacht with the family and I captured this picture of the “Woods Memorial Bridge” which connects Beaufort with Lady’s Island. The bridge was filmed in “Forest Gump” where he used to run and also the movie “Prince of Tides” The storm last night was really nasty but as it cleared out so did the sky and I couldn’t resist. The Second picture is of the low tide marsh that surrounds the Beaufort River in the Port Royal Sound.

Lake Moultrie Sunset #2

This is a photo from Lake Moultrie, South Carolina. I recently posted a picture from here and had lots of comments on it so I posted another one from the previous evening. I’ve seen some of the most amazing sunsets over the lake. The way the light casts across the water and the dramatic colors that illuminate the sky some how lure me into using my camera almost every time even though I have a whole collection of these. This is by far my most favorite place to relax. These sunsets and a cold margarita always completely clear my head.
